»The main streets of a metropolis are always the focal points of urban life. They are meeting points, shop windows, arteries of life and supply - living rooms and catwalks of urban society in all its diversity. In this respect, they are first and foremost places for the people of a city, but they are rarely idyllic.

Their future lies in multifunctionally usable spaces (as much separation as necessary, as little as possible), designed in a climate-sensitive way, not negating the indispensable traffic function, but integrated in a compatible way, with the needs of pedestrian traffic at the center (and not the parking of cars). Liveliness mingles with serenity, the speed of strolling as a benchmark, not haste.«
